So had a bit of a shock today...the midwife came and had a feel of bump, and a measure, and announced it's going to be a big baby. Apparently it's already over 7lbs and by the time it's born it's likely to be over 9lbs. Ouch. My hopes of a natural birth are slowly fading away...Still, as long as it's healthy and all the bits are there and I'm in one piece when I've had it...that's the main thing! Besides, I just have to think of the bragging rights I'll have :-P

This is not a rant about anyone on here. This is a rant about my best friend Terry's sister Trina, who is also pregnant - and it has turned her into a psycho hosebeast.



She's quite a standoffish kind of girl anyway, but friendly enough when you get to know her. But since getting pregnant (incidentally she caught around the same time as me) she's become one of those people who thinks that they're the only person ever to have a child or go through any kind of discomfort. It really annoys me for obvious reasons.



When Terry and his wife Sam were temporarily staying with Trina (Sam was pregnant at the time and suffering with bad BH contractions), Trina would disniss Sam's discomfort and obvious pain by saying things like 'You're only pregnant,' and 'come off it, they're no worse than period pains'. Basically, showing no sympathy or even concern at all for Sam.



But, of course, now Trina herself is pregnant - her BH's are the worst ever, much worse than Sam's! She actually demanded to be taken into hospital at 16 weeks and put on morphine because the pain was so bad. Apparently. Now, she's about a fortnight off her due date and she's back in hospital again. Why? Because she's listened to a friend of hers, Libby, who's told her to 'take a laxative with every meal to help with labour and stop yourself from pooing during giving birth'. Consequentally, Trina is now suffering with dehydration and bad pains. I wonder why...?



Incidentally, this Libby has had 3 kids, all premature, all underweight at birth. The heaviest weighed in at just under 6lbs. No surprise there, if she'd been overdosing on laxatives throughout the 3rd trimester! Now it seems she's resigned Trina to the same fate. I was appalled when Sam told me about this. I know it's safe to take laxatives such as Lactulose during pregnancy - in moderation - but one with each meal? I think not!



Anyway, this is serving no real purpose other than for me to get my frustrations out. I'm just annoyed with people like Trina who are not only hypocritical, but think they're so much worse off than others and basically give pregnant women a bad name. Yes, we've all had the pelvic pains, we've all had the various other unpleasant symptoms associated with pregnancy - but do you see us milking it? NO. So get off your high horse and stop thinking you're so special!



...she won't actually read this so of course I'm not actually speaking directly to her...this is more what I'd love to say to her if I saw her anytime soon!
